Currency Redesign

The purpose of this assignment was to redesign the United States dollar bill, what some would say is a very unimaginative but valuable design. The specifications being to research and develop a theme that was not only visually compelling, but something that could also reflect the country’s social and cultural values of the times. My chosen theme was moments that changed the United States, be that from the literal creation of the country to social unrest movements of the last few years. I chose moments that I thought to be the most important, though others may have differing opinions. The use of the Statue of Liberty throughout my design is something I think to be very important to the overall piece, it being used to try to encapsulate the feeling of liberation the various groups all felt after finally being seen and heard.
